2014 Pet Food Drives
Thanks to all who made our April 6th Pet Food Drive a great success! Thanks to all who volunteered their time and energy and thanks to all who donated.
Thanks to all who helped with our third Pet Food Drive
RunFurShelter hosted their 3rd Pet Food Drive on Saturday, January 18th from 10 to 2 at the South Elgin PetSmart. RunFurShelter recently partnered with the Salvation Army Golden Diners Program, which feeds over 800 senior citizens in the Kane and McHenry counties. These meals are prepared daily, Monday thru Friday at the Hemmens Auditorium in downtown Elgin all year round. It was through this meal program that a need was identified regarding senior citizens and their difficulty with the costs of feeding their pets.
To help with the funding RunFurShelter will be hosting its 4th annual 5K run on May 18th 2014 in South Elgin, All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase pet food for this great cause. It is our hope to raise more than is needed to feed all their pets and to also have enough funds to defray veterinarian costs. To keep the pantry filled Pet Food Drives will be held once a month up to the event, watch web site for dates and times.
RunFurShelter board members, are Tanya Esquivel, Nancy Meaney and Sara Johnson, along with many devoted volunteers and friends, they work year around in an effort to bring to the Elgin, South Elgin community a fun and healthy family activity.
RunFurShelter is proud to be a non for profit 501(C) 3 organization and is always looking for volunteers for events and Pet Food drives. Contact Nancy @ Meaneytraining@aol.com or 224-558-9080
